This introductory guide was designed to teach spiritual seekers just enough Sanskrit to pronounce terms correctly and look up words in a dictionary. It uses ITRANS transcription, the Devanagari script, and provides the main rules for combining letters and words. It has been superseded by ‘Sanskrit for Seekers’ – see below.

A short, readable historical summary of Western philosophers’ thoughts on the meaning of life, from the early Greeks to the modern day. It “cherry-picks” those aspects of Western thought that relate to the principles of Advaita.

Compiles over 450 questions from seekers asked over 15 years at my website, grouped into topics with introductory and summary material. It resolves specific worries and challenges that seekers encounter on their spiritual path.

The first of a series, this book highlights serious misconceptions in modern non-dual teaching and corrects them using traditional scriptural authority. Vol. 1 specifically focuses on clarifying the nature of enlightenment as knowledge gained from authentic teaching rather than any sort of experience.

I have recently published this on Kindle and it is available in either a ‘print replica’ version (retaining contents list and index but difficult to read on small devices) or a ‘reflowable’ version that can be resized for optimal viewing but loses the detailed contents list and index.

Provides detailed guidance for seekers looking for a teacher, or books from which they can learn. Lists and assesses over 250 current teachers and organizations as to whether or not they are genuinely teaching Advaita. It aims to help seekers identify false teachers and grandiose marketing claims by comparing modern styles with original traditional teaching.

The second volume in the series addresses the nature of ignorance (avidyā), its removal by teaching, and common misunderstandings, such as whether the world ‘disappears’ on enlightenment. It refers everything back to Shankara to resolve complex post-Shankara academic arguments.

This companion book to Self Seeking could also be considered as a companion to ‘Back to the Truth’, since it provides explanatory examples of how not to teach Advaita. The internet has made it all too easy for those who do not really understand the teaching, nevertheless to market themselves as authorities.Completed and copy-edited, it is working its way through the publisher’s pre-sales and marketing procedures.
